As a locally owned company, Northbridge understands the uniqueness of New England and embraces that individuality in each of our senior living communities.

The founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski are native to the area and after over 30 years of experience in senior living, were inspire to create a company focused on serving seniors and their families with respect, compassion and integrity. Core to the success of Northbridge is its people. It starts with a passion for caring for seniors and a desire to always do the right thing. Each caregiver is extensively trained through Northbridge’s Learning for Life program, which combines in-person training, online classes, group learning sessions and peer mentors.

Community Lifestyle

We want our residents and families to live well and love life. We've created unique environments centered on mind, body, and spirit.

The residents are warm and welcoming to all. I know living at Carriage House is not only extending mom's life but giving her a quality of life she would never have living alone. We all deeply appreciate Carriage House; it is a real treasure. We are lucky to be part of this very special community.

What Makes Us Different

When families choose a Northbridge community they have peace of mind knowing we take time getting to know our residents and focusing on what matters most to them. Whether it be the simple things like how a resident takes their coffee, or partnering with a local ceramics artist to lead the newest Artists in Residence class or even enjoying a locally sourced cooking demonstration – there is something for everyone. At Northbridge, it is our goal to serve the many diverse needs and desires of today’s senior. We strive to create living environments and innovative programs which encourage freedom, offer lifestyle choices, and provide the necessary services to live life to the fullest.

Memory Making Baking at Avita

A well-loved signature to Northbridge’s Avita neighborhoods has been our longstanding Memory Making Baking program. Enthusiastic associates help residents enliven their senses and memories with family recipes. Apple crisp wafting the spicy scents of cinnamon of Thanksgiving kitchens or the sweet memories of licking the cookie scoop as a kid – Memory Making Baking brings those hopeful, happy memories to the forefront of our residents living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
