Meet Rob Memmolo, Executive Director at Ledgewood Bay, whose more than 20-year career in senior living began with a simple desire to give back. After earning his master’s degree, Rob volunteered at a local county nursing home that quickly sparked a lasting passion for supporting older adults. He brings a deep understanding of community operations, along with a leadership style rooted in compassion, purpose, and positivity. Known for his hands-on approach and genuine connection with residents, Rob finds the greatest joy in the relationships he builds each day. At Ledgewood Bay, he fosters a welcoming, supportive environment for residents, families, and associates alike, guided by Northbridge’s strong culture and commitment to helping seniors live well and love life.

How long have you been working in Senior Living and what first made you interested in the field?

I started in the Senior Living industry over 20 years ago. I remember that I had just gotten my master’s degree and I wanted to do something altruistic for the community so I did some volunteer work the United Way at a local County Nursing Home. I then said to myself that this is the field I want to be in and to make a difference for seniors.

What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?

There are so many things that I enjoy, but I would say being around the residents would be my favorite part.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about being an Executive Director?

Being an Executive Director is a rewarding job. You will never experience the same day twice. You are responsible for every aspect of the community so it is important to know the operations on all levels. The most important thing is to bring compassion, passion, and fun every day that you work.

What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living?

I would say that if you are looking for a job that has purpose and where you can make an impact for seniors’ quality of life, then this is a great field for you to join.

What is the best part about working at Ledgewood Bay or at Northbridge?

The best part of working for Northbridge is the great culture of our company. It starts with our owners, Wendy Nowokunski and Jim Coughlin, and it trickles down from them to the leadership in communities like Ledgewood Bay.

What is one tip you have to ensure new residents and families feel welcome and supported from day one?

I would say that it is important for our new residents and family members to meet our team, ask questions, and develop a relationship with us. It is a big decision and transition, so we want to be as helpful as we can.
