Executive Director Spotlight – Melanie Dunn

We are excited to recognize our dedicated Executive Directors! Our Executive Directors wear many hats depending on the day and the task at hand. They are the leader of the community and make sure that the day to day operations are under control and that everyone within the community is Living Well and Loving Life!  Meet a few of our amazing and dedicated Executive Directors!

Executive Director: Melanie Dunn 
Community: Ledgewood Bay

  1. What first made you interested in working in Senior Living?
    My mother worked in Healthcare (Operations Manager for the VNA), my first job was working for her in Medical Records. I have been working in Healthcare ever since (31 years).
  2. How long have you been working in Senior Living and what was your first job in this field?
    My first  job in Assisted Living was as a Business Office Director in 2010, then I worked as a Traditional Care Director prior to transitioning into the Executive Director role. Working as a Business Office Director and Traditional Care Director helped give me experience in both care and operations which has helped me as an Executive Director.
  3. What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?
    Feeling like I made a difference, sometimes it’s the small things that can make a big impact.
  4. What is one thing you wish everyone new about being a Executive Director?
    It’s a big  job but rewarding at the same time, and never say you’ve seen it all because surprise, something  you never expected will happen!
  5. What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living? 
    Don’t ever be afraid to make mistakes because that’s how you grow!
  6. What keeps you invested in the field?
    The need to make an impact whether that is with our residents or as a mentor to associates.
  7. What is your favorite part about your job?
    Seeing a resident thrive in our environment!
  8. What is the best part about working at Northbridge?
    The small town feel of Northbridge. The communities help and support each other.
