How long have you been working in senior living and what first made you interested in the field?
Just over three years, but I wish I made the move sooner. I’ve truly enjoyed assisting the seniors in my personal life, particularly those with dementia, and felt that a career in senior living would be fulfilling.
What is your favorite part about working in senior living?
Getting to know the residents and seeing how what we do, even if it’s behind the scenes, can have a positive impact on their lives.
What is one thing you wish everyone new about being a Business Office Director?
It’s about much more than paperwork, it’s about people. As Business Office Director’s, we work closely with the associates, residents, families, vendors, the home office team, and others. It’s a varied, fast-paced, and deeply rewarding role.
What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in senior living?
Don’t overthink it. If you genuinely have heart for seniors and enjoy helping others, then jump in! You won’t regret it.
What is the best part about working at Stafford Hill or at Northbridge?
Being part of an AMAZING team that genuinely cares about our residents; not just maintaining but improving their overall quality of life.
What is your favorite way to connect with residents?
Through the small everyday interactions. Whether it’s responding to a specific inquiry or pausing to chat for a few minutes while out and about in the community. I really enjoy those conversations!
