Programming During a Pandemic

During the Covid-19 pandemic health, care and safety of our residents has been top priority. One important piece of keeping residents healthy and safe is to keep them active and engaged with varied programming. Our programming teams have been working around the clock to come up with creative, safe and socially distanced programs that allow our residents to continue to thrive during these unprecedented times.

We talk with Program Assistant, Stephanie, who works at one of our Avita Memory Care communities, Avita of Newburyport. Stephanie gives a first hand account of programming during a pandemic, the importance of keeping residents engaged and active and maintaining family connections in the age of virtual visits.

 

A little more about Stephanie:
Stephanie, or Auntie Steph as she’s known around Avita of Newburyport, is a retired elementary school teacher and mental health worker. She started working at Avita of Newburyport because it seemed like the perfect combination of her past jobs. She says, “I totally fell in love with Avita.”

Favorite Programs: daily chronicle, intergenerational programs, and entertainers & music- especially when residents sing!
