We’re excited to spotlight Shaun Thompson, Sales Director at Ledgewood Bay, whose passion for senior living is rooted in a lifelong commitment to serving seniors. After spending much of his career working closely with older adults through pharmacy ownership, Shaun joined Northbridge nine months ago, finding senior living to be a natural and meaningful next step. Known for the warm mornings filled with smiles and hugs from residents, Shaun believes his role goes far beyond sales, it’s about building relationships, honoring life stories, and helping families feel truly at home at Ledgewood Bay.

How long have you been working in Senior Living and what first made you interested in the field?
Although I have only been at Northbridge since Summer 2025, I’ve spent the majority of my career working with seniors. Having been employed by and then owning my own pharmacies, I always made it a point to spend extra time helping seniors. When I was searching for a new career path, senior living felt right and made for a smooth transition.
What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?
My favorite part working in senor living is arriving at the community each morning. Our living room is always full of residents, and they are so happy when we arrive. Some of them rush over to say hello and offer a morning hug.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about being a Sales Director?
I wish people knew how rewarding it is to be a Sales Director. We have the privilege of getting to know our future prospects and their families on a personal level, where they grew up, their hobbies, family and friends. We then retell the story as we introduce them to our current residents.
What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living?
I would recommend anybody thinking of a career in senior living to not waste time and jump in! The industry is so rewarding, each day with our residents is like opening a new book in a living library,
What is the best part about working at Ledgewood Bay or at Northbridge?
The best part about working at Ledgewood Bay is our fantastic team. They accepted me from the moment I arrived at the community. Each and every one of the team members shared their experiences, offered assistance, and always left their doors open for me.
What is your best tip for a family starting their senior living search?
I would recommend anyone starting their senior living search to be proactive and to wait for a crisis to happen. Visit different communities, talk to residents, participate in activities and find a community where your loved ones feel comfortable.
