We are excited to recognize our hardworking Maintenance Directors! They work tirelessly all year, keeping our communities in great working order and making sure all systems are working perfectly. We wanted to recognize them during the Winter because of the extra time and effort put in to keep our communities safe, shoveled and warm for all of our residents and associates.  Meet a few of our amazing and dedicated Maintenance Directors!

  1. What first made you interested in working in Senior Living?
    After experiencing the culture of senior living when my mother-in-law entered senior housing it became evident that this was a career that would give me a sense of pride and purpose.
  2. How long have you been working in Senior Living and what was your first job in this field?
    My career started in senior living as a Maintenance Technician in 2006 and was promoted to Director in 2007.
  3. What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?
    Providing a safe and welcoming home for the residents and their families.
  4. What is one thing you wish everyone knew about being a Maintenance Director?
    Being a Director requires extensive knowledge, organization, compassion, and forward thinking. 
  5. What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living?
    Don’t ever stop learning.  You will always feel rewarded in many ways.
  6. What keeps you invested in the field?
    The continued commitment to the senior population that deserve to feel they have a home and will be well cared for.  The love of problem solving for the community, with success.
  7. What is your favorite part about your job?
    Providing a sense of security to families that their loved one will be well cared for and be treated with dignity.
  8. What is the best part about working at Carriage House or at Northbridge?
    The time, effort and caring that I see the staff exhibit every day to ensure we are providing the best care possible.
  9. What is your favorite way to help a new family during the move in process?
    It is very important that families feel that you are providing a service that is unparalleled.  The initial meeting upon move-in to assist with hanging pictures, furniture set up, and instructions helps make a sometimes difficult transition, a little easier.
