What first made you interested in working in Senior Living?
I first became interested in working in senior living when I volunteered at a local hospital while I was in college. I worked with many senior volunteers and enjoyed the experience.
How long have you been working in Senior Living and what was your first job in this field?
I have been working in senior living for 24 years and my first job was a Program Assistant in a skilled nursing facility.
What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?
My residents, the staff and families.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about being an Avita Program Director?
You need to be able to pivot and have a plan B.
What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living?
Get to know your residents.
What keeps you invested in the field?
The variety within the structure.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Playing music and singing with our residents.
What is the best part about working at Stonebridge or at Northbridge?
I work in a beautiful neighborhood with a great staff and coworkers.
What is one thing you would tell families moving their loved one into memory cate to make the transition easier?
This is a hard question because everyone is different and what may work for one person won’t for another.
