Come along with us on our trip to Belfire Glass Blowing in Biddeford, Maine, with residents from Stroudwater Lodge. A big part of our engagement philosophy is encouraging independence, exploring our local communities and creating opportunities for residents to try new things and discover new interests. Experiences like this hands-on glass blowing workshop allow residents to learn alongside local artists. We want to ensure residents have opportunities to stay engaged in their greater communities at every stage of life.

Meet Your Neighbor

Dr. Eithne McCann grew up in Ireland and studied medicine in Dublin before her career in rehabilitation medicine brought her and her husband to the United States and Maine. For approximately 40 years, she led the rehabilitation program at Maine Medical Center, helping patients regain skills and independence alongside a multidisciplinary team. Her work also inspired a deep involvement in adaptive sports, where she saw firsthand how support and opportunity could help people with disabilities achieve what they once thought impossible.
