How long have you been working in Senior Living and what first made you interested in the field?
I have been a CNA since 1996. I became a CNA to help take care of my dad after he was diagnosed with cancer along with my aunt Carole-RN who was his sister. I started working in assisted living in 2003.
What is your favorite part about working in Senior Living?
I enjoy the interaction with residents, listening to their stories and learning from them.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about being a Business Office Director?
That we also take care of the residents but in a different aspect.
What is one piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a career in Senior Living?
Be a Business Office Director because you love it.
What is the best part about working at Riverbend at Farmington or at Northbridge?
The support from Marlena and the Home office has been wonderful. The experience has exceeded all my expectations. The benefits are rich. I also like that Northbridge is a smaller intimate company whose main objective is not to be the biggest. I love that they are LGBTQ+ friendly.
What is your favorite way to connect with residents?
I love to jump into programs when they are taking place.
